Question by flawless1212: How do they tell the distinction amongst swine flu and normal flu?
I just got house from the hospital and I have the flu. The nurse swabbed my nose and the test came back positive for flu. My fever hasn’t went over 102 and I havent been throwing up. The nurse said she would have to send the test outcomes off to see if it was swine flu or not? How long does this last?

Your physician can order viral test from either blood or a swab from the nose. The present flu that is going about is not really a swineflu(which is derived from pigs). It is a variation of the seasonal flu named as H1N1 FLU.It can be confirmed by lab test

main difference…
if you have swine flu ask your doctor for some “oink-ment”, while if it is bird flu, seek immediate “tweet-ment”
haha heard that joke at school the other day and thought i would share.
There really is no need to worry about what it is, swine flu is a joke and is much less deadly than even regular flu.

You need to build up your immune system and use proper hygiene and cleanse the finger nails with anti viral soap . Do not use anti bacterial soap.
Washing your hands doesnt do much for the pathogenic germs for they live under our fingernails, short or long, and this is how we still get sick ; even though, we wash our hands well and often. A virus or harmful bacteria must grow to certain level before we experience symptoms. So it is important to reduce the # as quickly as possible, by properly cleaning your nails with a soap that has anti-viral properties and not anti-bacterial as the naturally good bacteria keeps the harmful pathogenic bacteria from reproducing. The more good bacteria the less room for harmful bacteria. Pathogenic germs reproduce in the nasal passage at an alarming rate; hence, a stuffy or runny nose; therefore, the nasal must be cleansed with a safe solution that counteracts viruses while allowing the bacteria to live.

As jaihokid stated your swab will be tested in a lab to determine if you have swine flu or not. Flu’s can last from 3-10 days, so take it easy, drink lots of fluid and treat your fever.
I hope you feel better soon!
And Evan thanks for the laugh!
